Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical ICU position requiring a SC or compact license, ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certification.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) of an acute care hospital
- Critically ill adult patient population with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm
- Holiday rotation and every other weekend required
- Floating within scope to like units as needed; travelers may float first
- Uses Epic charting system
- Responsible for delivering complex critical care to MICU patients in a 276-bed acute care setting
- Expected to work collaboratively with hospital care teams and float as needed
- Royal blue scrubs are required
- All mandatory EMR modules and hospital training must be completed prior to start
- Holiday coverage assigned based on rotation
- No local travelers are accepted for this position
- Requested time off must be included with application and will be approved based on facility needs
Requirements
- Active RN license from SC or a compact state must be in hand before start date
- Minimum 1 year of recent MICU experience required; 2 years preferred
- Current AHA certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
- Must provide Social Security card and Driver's License for consideration
- Candidates must live more than 60 miles from the facility
- First-time travelers will not be considered
- Past employees must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
