Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an RN for an ICU Stepdown Intermediate Care position requiring a TN or compact RN license and AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital ICU Stepdown Intermediate Care unit
- Patient population includes adult cardiac cases such as myocardial infarction, CHF, cardiogenic shock, cardiomyopathy, arrhythmias, and post-cardiopulmonary arrest
- Patients range in age from young adults to late adults (18+)
- Nurse to patient ratio is 1:2
- Team includes RNs and Patient Care Technicians
- Variable staffing grid based on patient census and acuity
- 36 or 48 hour work weeks with night shifts from 18:45-07:15
- Floating required between units or facilities within a 35-mile radius based on patient and staffing needs
- Notification given prior to scheduled shift if floating is required
- RN assumes full responsibility for assigned patients
- Extension of contract should be discussed with manager at least 45 days prior to contract end
- COVID-19 vaccination is not required
- All positions are auto offer
- Radius rule applies; local candidates are accepted at a reduced rate depending on state
Requirements
- Active TN or compact RN license
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
- Nursys verification and license primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Must have a valid US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
- Copy of driver’s license required
- Two references required
