Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position on a high-acuity, safety-focused unit with night shift and weekend requirements.
Responsibilities
- Work in a 24-bed Med/Surg unit specializing in care for at-risk patients
- The unit is secured with enhanced safety features including video monitoring, ligature alarms, anti-barricade doors, and badge-secured entrance
- Night shift position (3x12 hours, 19:00–07:30)
- Every other weekend is required
- Floating to other units, including as a Patient Observer (Sitter), is mandatory
- Cerner EMR used; prior experience preferred but not required
- Responsibilities include providing care to at-risk Med/Surg patients in a secured, safety-enhanced environment
- Must work at least 50% of holidays during the contract
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates within 75 miles are accepted at a reduced rate
- No re-orientation required for returning travelers within 18 months; a 9-month gap is required to return
- Work attire should align with hospital scrub or dress code guidelines
Requirements
- Active MO or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of overall nursing experience required
- At least 1 year of Med/Surg experience required
- Trauma Level 1 experience preferred
