Holidays : Enjoy the flexibility to observe holidays, including New Year's Day, 4th of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Coverage Type : This role involves call-only coverage, focusing on handling admissions and consultations for unassigned or Emergency Department (ED) patients. Admissions : Admissions are required, providing the opportunity to manage a diverse range of surgical cases. Patient Load : Expect to handle approximately 4 patients per shift, focusing on acute surgical care. Call Details : This is a 24-hour shift from 7 am to 7 am the next day. General Surgeons will be covering their own patients, and this coverage is specifically for unassigned or ED patients. Call Type : You will receive calls via beeper for unassigned ED patients and may need to consult on inpatients as necessary. Consultation : While fully supported by hospitalist and ICU attending coverage, you may need to consult on inpatients when required. Additional Details: Surgical Scope : This position involves surgery only, without endoscopy procedures. License Requirement : A valid Massachusetts medical license is required for consideration.
