Job Details – Seattle Emergency Room RN Travel Contract

• Location: Seattle, WA 98107 – Ballard neighborhood, close to Puget Sound
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1810-$1940
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
• Setting: Emergency Department (Adult & Pediatric)
• Start Date: January 5, 2026
• End Date: April 6, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Staffing Ratio: 1:4
• Beds: 18
• Visits/Day: 65
• Charting System: EPIC
• Medication System: Pyxis
• Floating: Required to Edmonds and other Swedish campuses
• Weekend Coverage: On call every other weekend

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of recent Emergency Room RN experience (2 years with strong ER nursing skills considered)
• Active Registered Nurse license in Washington State or Compact State
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS (all current)
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and ventilator management
• Experience in Level II Trauma Center triage and patient management (preferred)
• Charge nurse experience and EPIC charting preferred
• Comfortable caring for diverse patient populations: adults, pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health
• Professional scrubs (any color)

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients in a busy ER setting, including general ED, psychiatric, chemical dependency, and pediatric cases
• Perform and assist with procedures: breathing treatments, chest tube setup/care, CPAP/BiPAP, rapid sequence intubation, trach care, ventilator management, blood product administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, EKG acquisition, tele interpretation, drains, feeding tubes, PICC/central line care, vascular device access, syringe pumps, triple lumen catheter management
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: respiratory, radiology, social services, pharmacy
• Float to other Swedish campuses as needed and participate in on-call rotations
• Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC and follow all hospital protocols
• Deliver compassionate care and support to patients and families in high-stress emergency situations
