- Full-time position with flexible shifts and scheduling
- NICU: 22-bed AAP Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
- Team: 4 neonatologists and 4 nurse practitioners providing 24/7 in-house coverage
- Facility: Free-standing Women Äôs and Children Äôs Health Center
- Care provided for non-surgical patients â• 23 weeks Äô gestation; regional hub for affiliate institutions
- Advanced care capabilities include: - High-frequency ventilation (jet and oscillator) - Inhaled nitric oxide - Therapeutic hypothermia - Specialized transport services
- Integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive critical care to neonatal inpatients
- Consult in newborn nursery, inpatient pediatrics, ED, labor and delivery, and referring institutions
- Perform procedures: lumbar puncture, endotracheal intubation, umbilical lines, etc.
- Communicate effectively with caregivers
- Timely, accurate documentation in EMR (NeoData, Epic)
- Teach and develop nursing and ancillary staff (STABLE, NRP, bedside teaching, educational conferences)
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives (VON collaboratives, protocol review, journal clubs)
