Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring prior travel, charge, and cardiac drip experience, along with current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital Med/Surg unit with telemetry patient population
- Assignment length is 16 weeks with 12-hour night shifts
- Every other weekend required and schedule may be adjusted to meet unit needs
- Progressive care experience is preferred
- Uses EPIC EMR, recent EPIC experience from within the past 2 years is required
- Bi-weekly orientation sessions are held on Mondays
- No block scheduling permitted
- RTO (time off) will be considered based on unit needs
- Candidates must explain any employment gaps over 90 days
- All work history must be thoroughly documented, including bed count, EMR used, and facility type
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Rates are determined based on the distance from the facility, with different tiers for local and travel candidates
Requirements
- Active VT or compact RN license required or willingness to obtain VT licensure promptly upon assignment
- Minimum of 2 years Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Charge RN experience is required
- Experience with insulin drips and cardiac drips required
- Current AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required, with NIHSS completed prior to start
- Recent EPIC experience from within the past 2 years is required
- Reliable personal or rental vehicle recommended, as public transportation is not available
- Vehicles should be equipped with all season or snow tires if assignment is between November and April
