The Radiation Oncology Specialist provides expert patient care using advanced radiotherapy technologies such as IMRT, SBRT, 3D-CRT, and SRS, managing daily treatment sessions and collaborating with physics teams. This role requires valid certification, clinical experience, and proficiency in treatment planning software and linear accelerator operation within a hospital or outpatient setting. Join our team as a Radiation Oncology Specialist and provide expert care to patients while working with advanced technology in a supportive environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Cover a week-long assignment starting February 19, 2026, with potential additional dates.
- Provide patient care in a clinical setting from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with treatment sessions extending to 5:30 PM.
- Maintain a clean malpractice file to ensure smooth credentialing and privileges.
- Manage an in-clinic volume of 5 10 patients daily, overseeing approximately 25 patients on treatment, including IMRT, SBRT, 3D-CRT, and SRS.
- Operate advanced equipment such as the Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerator, Siemens CT-Sim with respiratory gating, and treatment planning via Varian Aria/Eclipse.
- Collaborate with onsite physics for weekly coverage and remote dosimetry.
- Rarely perform inpatient rounds in radiation oncology.
Required Skills:
- Valid certification and licensure in Radiation Oncology.
- Proven experience in external beam radiotherapy, especially with IMRT, SBRT, 3D-CRT, and SRS.
- Proficiency in treatment planning software (Varian Aria/Eclipse) and operating linear accelerators.
- Strong knowledge of radiation safety protocols and malpractice standards.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience with respiratory gating systems.
- Experience in a similar outpatient or hospital setting.
- Familiarity with remote dosimetry workflows.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor s degree or higher in Radiation Therapy, Medical Physics, or related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of clinical radiation oncology experience preferred.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to travel and obtain necessary licensure and certifications.
- Must have completed background checks and hold a clean malpractice file prior to assignments.
