American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Room RN with an active NM or compact license and Level I Trauma experience preferred.
Responsibilities- Position based in a Level I Trauma, Children’s, and Teaching Hospital setting
- Work in the Emergency Department with a patient ratio of 1:5
- Many Emergency Department rooms serve as 'ED Holding' for admitted patients
- Work 36 or 48 hour weeks on night shifts (19:00—7:30)
- Floating to Adult PCUs and ED Holding units is expected based on staffing needs; optional floating to Peds ED and potential to Trauma department as needed
- Charting is completed using Cerner
- Travel experience is strongly preferred, but first-time travelers with at least 2 years of Level I Trauma experience may be considered
- Medication administration and documentation responsibilities are included
- High percentage of Emergency Department patients are admitted, with frequent admit holds
- Weekend shifts are scheduled as needed
- No on-call responsibilities
- Black scrubs required (not provided by facility)
- No parking fee at the facility
- Requests for more than 7 days off require prior approval
- Active NM or compact RN license required; pending license accepted at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required; applicants with at least 1.5 years may be reviewed
- Level I Trauma experience preferred
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, TNCC (must have before submission), PALS, NIH (may be obtained before start date)
- COVID-19 vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions accepted with proper documentation
- No local applicants accepted within a 75-mile radius
