Veterinarian Associate Requirements & Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
- Licensed (or able to be licensed) with DEA eligibility.
- Confident in anesthesia, dentistry, and standard surgical procedures.
Veterinarian Associate Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Deliver thorough exams, individualized treatment plans, and preventive care that fits each pet’s lifestyle.
- Diagnose and treat conditions using a clear, problem-solving approach.
- Communicate openly with pet parents and document care with transparency.
- Perform surgeries ranging from routine spay/neuter to more complex soft-tissue procedures.
- Manage dental care including radiographs, extractions, and oral surgeries.
- Oversee hospitalized patients to ensure they receive consistent, compassionate care.
- Work closely with a team that values empathy, collaboration, and communication.
