Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardio Thoracic ICU position requiring a CT or compact RN license and three years of cardiac ICU experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a high-acuity Cardio Thoracic ICU within a Level I Trauma Center
• Short term acute care hospital setting
• Average nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 for both day and night shifts
• Night shifts, 3x12s required
• Every other weekend is required
• Uses Swan-Ganz monitoring and Epic charting system
• Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required
• Responsible for caring for complex post-cardiothoracic surgical and critically ill patients
• Pre-employment modules are required and must be completed prior to start
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
• First-time travelers accepted if experienced in Cardio Thoracic ICU or critical care
• RTO greater than seven days requires facility approval
• Team-oriented environment at a large academic medical center

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license; pending licenses accepted if application is in process
• Minimum three years of recent cardiac ICU experience required
• At least one year of Level I trauma center experience required
• Current NIHSS, ACLS, and BLS certifications required
• Experience and proficiency with Swan-Ganz monitoring required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations allowed
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster required with religious or medical exemptions only
• No local candidates; must live more than 75 miles from the facility
• Must not have been a permanent staff member at the facility within the past two years
