American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with strong liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant experience for a hospital-based transplant surgical setting.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital-based Operating Room specializing in transplant surgeries
- Responsibilities will include liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant procedures
- Day shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM
- Liver call is required, with coverage for other transplant cases if no liver/transplant procedures
- On-call required: 1 shift per week and two 12-hour weekend shifts per month
- Floating within scope to meet department needs
- Uses Misonix/CUSA surgical equipment
- Charting is performed using Epic
- Ceil Blue scrubs required
- Role involves complex transplant surgical care from initial patient preparation through post-transplant monitoring
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary surgical team in a teaching facility
- Time-sensitive onboarding modules must be completed promptly prior to start and annually
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- All requested time off must be submitted up front; late submissions are unlikely to be approved
- Locals are accepted at the same rate
- Free parking provided in any unrestricted space
- Permanent and per diem candidates must observe a 1-year break before returning to a Cleveland Clinic facility
- Assignments may be extended for up to 18 months, after which a 6-month break is required, unless otherwise approved
- Holiday coverage may be required as discussed by nurse manager
- Active FL or Compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years of direct liver/transplant OR RN experience required
- Proficiency with Misonix/CUSA equipment required
- Demonstrated experience in organ implantation (not just harvesting)
- Certifications required: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) at time of consideration, NIHSS prior to start
- Two professional manager/supervisor references from assignments within the past 12 months required
- Pending licenses accepted
- Negative 10 Panel + Nicotine (cotinine) drug screen required within 12 months of start and updated annually if needed
- No open or recent background or license issues
- ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate completed during orientation with passing scores required
