ICU RN Job Details

• End Date: January 17, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
• Holiday Coverage: 75% of holidays required
• Scrub Color: Navy (white or navy undershirt; no T-shirts or Crocs)
• Parking: Free onsite parking
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1570 - $1680 per week

ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (North Carolina or compact state)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 18 months to 2 years of recent ICU RN experience
• Proficiency in stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, ART lines, CVPs, critical care drips, chest tubes, PIV starts, TNK administration, ventilator management, trach care, NGT placement, drain/tube management, PCA pumps, wound care, and 12-lead EKGs
• Ability to float within the region (Med/Tele, ICU, PCU, ED holds, Behavioral Health for med pass/charting)
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Strong communication skills and openness to constructive feedback

ICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care to ICU and Med/Tele patients with diagnoses such as sepsis, COPD, CHF, MI, stroke, and respiratory illnesses
• Manage patient assignments of 2-3 patients per shift, based on acuity
• Perform NIH stroke assessments and participate in comprehensive stroke care
• Administer and titrate critical care and cardiac drips, blood products, and medications
• Monitor and interpret telemetry for the unit
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including house supervisors, charge nurses, respiratory therapists, and hospitalists
• Float to other units or facilities within the region as needed, within scope of practice
• Participate in orientation and adhere to all facility policies and procedures
