- The department performs its own immunohistochemical (IHC) and in situ hybridization (ISH) staining in-house using the Leica BOND-MAX III automated stainer, enabling high-throughput, reproducible results and rapid diagnostic turnaround.
- Digitally printed blocks and slides minimize labeling errors and ensure full traceability throughout the specimen workflow.

Key Responsibilities
- Interpret surgical pathology, cytology (gynecologic and non-gynecologic), and hematopathology cases. Perform grossing of routine specimens, occasional frozen sections, and IHC/ISH-based diagnostic workups.
- Provide clinical consultation in clinical pathology, including blood bank/transfusion medicine, microbiology, hematology, and chemistry.
- Provide medical direction for clinical laboratory services, maintaining compliance with NYSDOH, CLIA, and Joint Commission standards.
- Participate in tumor boards, multidisciplinary conferences, and quality improvement initiatives.
