Medical Imaging Technologist
Job DescriptionThe Medical Imaging Technologist, under the direction of the Medical Director, Section Head, manager, and Radiologist, performs technical procedures and assists in the clinical evaluation and care of patients. The technologist utilizes their specific modality to create diagnostic images and provides patients with a safe and positive experience. In radiation-producing modalities, technologists practice and enforce radiation safety measures in compliance with New York State Department of Health code part 16. They support teaching and continue learning as technology changes for both themselves and others.
ScheduleThis position operates on a schedule of Sunday to Wednesday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure- Associate Degree in Applied Science - required
- Diploma in X-Ray - required
- Vocational School Diploma, Graduate of an approved professional academic imaging program - required
- Previous experience preferred
- ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Registered upon hire - required
- New York State registration or possess a limited permit to practice in the State of New York upon hire - required
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified upon hire - required
