Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical ICU night shift position requiring an active NY RN license and Epic charting experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) of a hospital setting
- 16-bed unit treating a range of critically ill adult patients including sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, pre-VAD workups, alcohol withdrawal, overdose, multi-organ failure, post-cardiac arrest with targeted temperature management, respiratory failure/shock, CRRT, EKOS, IABP, ECMO, and Impella cases
- Nurse to patient ratio is typically 1:2, with 1:1 ratios based on patient acuity
- Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00-07:30)
- Every other weekend required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Local candidates must reside more than 75 miles away
- Floating is not specified
- Responsibilities include providing care for critically ill patients with complex multisystem needs and using advanced ICU technology such as CRRT, IABP, ECMO, and Impella
- First time travelers are accepted for consideration
- Scrub color or dress code is not specified
- Candidates must not have taken another assignment within a 75-mile radius
Requirements
- Active NY RN license in hand required
- Minimum 1 year of MICU or critical care nursing experience required
- Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Experience with Epic EMR required
- Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend
