Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• Work 4x10 hour shifts, Monday through Friday with rotating start times as needed
• No weekends, no call, and no holiday coverage required
• Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13-week contract
• 2 years of experience required, with Level I Trauma Center experience mandatory
• Critical care experience required for high-acuity PACU patients
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS (CCRN and TNCC preferred)
• Must have experience with drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia
• Skills required: dysrhythmia recognition/management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, starting IVs, IV vasopressors, ICP monitoring, and care of ventilated patients
• Must be comfortable with post-cardiac surgery, lobectomy, chest trauma, exploratory laparotomy, splenectomy, and trauma patients
• Float capability required within scope to PACU, PreOp, ICU, main PACU, PCU, medical-surgical, and ER holding units
• Care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in a Level I trauma center setting
• Daily census of 70-90 patients across 38 patient bays
• Navy blue scrubs required
• EPIC charting system experience preferred
• Must pass Relias EKG exam
• Night shift personnel must learn preoperative patient workup procedures
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from facility
• Maximum 7 days requested time off per 13-week contract

The facility operates a 24/7 PACU with 38 patient bays and provides comprehensive post-anesthesia care for a wide variety of surgical specialties including neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general surgery, colorectal, gynecology, urology, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant procedures. The facility maintains high acuity standards with 80% of PACU patients requiring hospital admission after procedures, and offers interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, and rapid response teams.
