The Speech Pathologist conducts evaluations and treatment for patients with communication disorders and swallowing difficulties, aiming to restore function and prevent disability. They interpret assessment data and develop individualized intervention programs. Required qualifications include a master's degree, ASHA certification, and state licensure.
Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Coordinating, consultations and diagnostic evaluations with patients having known or suspected communication disorders and/or oropharyngeal dysphagia; and interpreting assessment data; planning and performing speech-language pathology treatment intervention programs when appropriate that restore function, prevent disability and help patients reach maximum potential.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Communication Disorders from an accredited graduate school. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
None.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Licensure by the Georgia Board of Examiners of Speech/Language Pathology. BLS certification through AHA.
