American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in a Level 3 Trauma Center, requiring Epic experience and an active OK or compact RN license.
Responsibilities- Work in a Med/Surg Telemetry unit within an acute care hospital
- Level 3 Trauma Center environment
- Patient ratios typically 1:5, with possible assignment up to 1:6–7
- Common diagnoses include altered mental status, CHF, stroke, orthopedic cases, surgical patients, DKA, and infections
- Care for some patients with mental health diagnoses
- Day shift, three 12-hour shifts per week, 6:30–19:00
- Requires three weekend shifts per 6 weeks
- No on-call responsibilities
- Unit uses Epic EMR; Epic experience required
- Floating within scope to other units as needed
- Locals accepted at the same rate as travelers
- Must adhere to hospital zero-fault attendance policy; two missed shifts result in a warning, three may result in contract cancellation
- Required to complete all assigned modules before the start date
- No holiday RTO approved; maximum of five total days off during a 13-week assignment, with all time off pre-approved at submission
- Block scheduling or special scheduling requests are not permitted
- Scrub color varies by unit; confirm specific requirements with supervisor
- Free parking available on-site
- All travelers must commit to pre-employment lab work within 48-72 hours of signing
- Active OK or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum two years of recent hospital RN experience required
- At least two successful travel assignments completed with no performance or attendance issues; no first-time travelers
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS
- NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
- Proficiency in cardiac care and basic dysrhythmia interpretation required (self-rating of 3 or above)
- Epic EMR experience within the past year is required
- No background check issues permitted
