Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring level 1 trauma experience and advanced perinatal certifications.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a hospital setting
- Nights shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
- Cares for diverse obstetric patient population from routine to complex cases
- Level 1 trauma center experience required
- Responsibilities include patient care delivery, medication administration, IV and blood product management, and monitoring physiological status
- Collaborates with physicians and assists with minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
- Maintains thorough documentation of patient responses and physician orders
- Educates and communicates with patients and families regarding care plans and hospital procedures
- Delegates tasks appropriately to support staff
- Holiday and weekend coverage may be required
- Complies with dress code and hospital protocols
- Returning travelers may extend once for a total of 26 weeks and must have a 6-month break before becoming eligible for rehire
Requirements
- Active RN license from OK or a compact state
- Minimum of one year Labor & Delivery experience
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA only), Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, NRP Advanced Provider or NRP Instructor
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school required
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
