Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN with at least 2-3 years of L&D experience, active MD or compact RN license, and strong charge and preceptor skills.
Responsibilities
- Position is in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting
- Night shift (4x12 hours), 19:00 to 07:00
- Nurse-to-patient ratio ranges from 1:1 to 1:2
- Every other weekend coverage required
- May be floated to Postpartum/Couplet care and 'feeder/grower' assignments in a Level II NICU
- LDRP, Antepartum, Intrapartum, and Postpartum/Couplet Care experience required
- Circulating for C-sections required
- Experience with Cerner charting system required
- Responsibilities include care for laboring, antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients, including circulating for C-sections
- Proficiency with triage, sterile vaginal exams, and Baby Friendly hospital practices highly preferred
- First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment
- Facility is Magnet certified
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Must be willing to float based on unit needs
- Candidates must not have been employed by the facility in the last year to qualify for traveler status
- Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted
- Holiday coverage may be required according to hospital policy
Requirements
- Active MD or compact RN license required
- Minimum 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required; may consider candidates with 2 years
- Charge and preceptor experience required
- Certifications required: BLS, NRP, Intermediate AWHONN
- Must hold or register for C-EFM through NCC during compliance or within first two weeks
- ACLS, STABLE, and C-EFM through NCC preferred
- Two supervisor references required
- Flu vaccine required for all staff
