This locum tenens position seeks a board-certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a Level 1 trauma hospital in Colorado, providing adult cardiovascular and thoracic surgical care. The role involves performing complex procedures such as coronary artery bypass, valvular repair, aneurysm repair, and ECMO cannulation, with additional responsibilities including ICU patient management and weekday on-call coverage. Candidates must hold an active Colorado medical license, be COVID vaccinated, and demonstrate proficiency in advanced cardiac surgical techniques and critical care support.
Coverage Needed ASAP - Ongoing Schedule Friday, Saturday, Sunday 2 weekends p/m with some sporadic week day call coverage Week day call coverage 5p-6a Clinical Details Level 1 trauma Hospital based 100% Adult 10-15 hospital based patients on average per day PPD: 1-2 Admissions, 8-10 ICU, 1-2 Surgeries 400 Total number of beds 12 ICU Beds Requirements Board Certified Cardiovascular Surgery (ABMS/AOA) Active Colorado License or active IMLC Active BLS, ACLS or must be willing to obtain Must note provider is able to perform all required procedures Clean background/no malpractice COVID vaccinated Required Procedures: General CV/thoracic surgery " open endoscopic Coronary artery bypass surgery " on pump off pump Congenital defects (ASD, VSD, PFO, etc.) Valvular " repair Endarterectomy (not specified below) replacement Aneurysm repair " cardiac aorto-thoracic ECMO Cannulation and Patient stabilization for transport Preferred Procedures: Evaluation and management of acute vol /BP issues Insertion of Central Line, Arterial Line, PA catheter, IABP Support Staff 2 Physicians in practice 5 Mid-levels EMR EPIC
