Job Overview:Position: ER (Emergency Room) Registered Nurse
Location: Oakland, CA
Shift: Mid 3x12-Hour (13:00–01:00) — alternate schedule may include (15:00–03:00)
Schedule: 36 hours per week | Variable start times (1 PM / 3 PM / 5 PM) | Every other weekend | On-call as needed
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Required Certifications:- Active California RN License
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- PALS (AHA)
- NIHSS
Job Summary:The ER RN is responsible for providing safe, compassionate, and efficient nursing care in a fast-paced emergency department. This role involves managing patient care from admission to discharge while collaborating with physicians, families, and healthcare teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver competent and compassionate patient care following hospital policies and nursing standards.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care to ensure quality outcomes.
- Respond promptly to medical and environmental emergencies.
- Serve as a liaison between nursing and medical staff for seamless care coordination.
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and hygiene while maintaining a clean environment.
- Prioritize care in routine and complex emergency situations.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and on time.
- Monitor patient conditions and communicate any significant changes to the physician.
- Develop individualized plans of care based on patient needs and ongoing assessments.
- Support patient and family education regarding treatment and discharge planning.
