We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Tax Manager to join our established and growing CPA firm. This exciting opportunity will allow you to utilize your extensive tax knowledge and management skills to drive success within our organization. Your main focus will be on overseeing the preparation and review of complex federal, state, and local tax returns for a diverse portfolio of clients, including individuals, businesses, and other entities. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all tax operations are compliant with relevant laws and regulations. This is a full-time, permanent position with ample opportunities for professional development and growth.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the preparation and review of complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax laws.
2. Utilize tax software, such as CCH and ProSystem fx, to streamline tax processes and improve efficiency.
3. Manage a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, support, and feedback to facilitate their professional growth.
4. Stay updated on the latest tax laws and regulations, and ensure that all tax operations are compliant.
5. Work closely with other departments to provide tax advice and guidance, and to ensure that tax considerations are integrated into all business decisions.
6. Develop and implement effective tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize tax savings.
7. Handle tax audits and tax disputes, and liaise with tax authorities as needed.
8. Provide top-notch customer service to clients, addressing their tax queries and concerns promptly and professionally.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 7 years of experience in tax at public accounting firm(s).
2. Proficiency in tax software, such as CCH and ProSystem fx.
3. Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
4. Proven experience managing the preparation and review of complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities.
5. In-depth knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
6. Strong leadership and management skills, with a proven ability to guide and motivate a team.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
9. A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or other relevant certification is highly desirable.
10. Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role.
