The Critical Care/ICU Nurse Practitioner provides autonomous and dynamic clinical care for adult trauma and acute care surgery patients in a Level I trauma center. Responsibilities include patient rounding, managing new surgical consults, responding to emergencies, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. The role requires advanced practice nursing skills, relevant clinical experience, and certifications such as ACLS, BLS, and DEA registration.
- Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner AGACNP for trauma and acute care surgery service
- Position type: Full time
- Shift length: 12 hours, 7 am " 7 pm
- Shift type: Day
- Base Pay: Commensurate with experience (For 2-4 year experience, It's $72.00 per hour) + $100 extra for each night shift)
- 475+ bed Level I trauma center
- In-house trauma surgeons and nurse practitioners 24 hrs
- The role of the APP is autonomous, dynamic, and fast-paced
- Clinically manage trauma and acute care surgery patients through the continuum of care; rounding, completing discharges, seeing new surgical consults, and responding to traumas in the ED
- Requires independent decision-making abilities and collaboration with rotating resident physicians, attending surgeons, subspecialty consultants, and multidisciplinary team of experts
- Attend surgical clinic every Wednesday to evaluate post operative patients with census ranging from 10-12 patients
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum (1) year of inpatient NP experience strongly preferred (preferably in Trauma Surgery)
- Will consider new graduates with RN experience in Trauma/Surgical ICU
Education Requirements:
- MSN
- Graduate of an accredited NP program approved by the BRN
- DEA current
- ACLS/BLS
- ATLS upon hire
