Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Connecticut requiring a CT RN license, NRP, and fetal monitoring expertise.
Responsibilities
- Work in a general hospital with 78 beds
- Labor & Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP) and Couplet Care setting
- Responsible for attending all deliveries, caring for low-risk antepartum patients, and transition nursery duties
- Occasional floating as helping hands (no patient assignment) to Med/Surg or Senior Behavioral Health, rotating for 2-hour shifts
- Night shift from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM with every other weekend and some on-call shifts
- Role includes direct couplet care from delivery through postpartum and newborn transition
- Every other weekend and some on-call shift coverage is required
- Scrub color/dress code is not specified
- Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a reduced rate
- Returning travelers with previous employment may require additional review for eligibility
Requirements
- Active CT RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years recent LDRP experience required
- Current AHA certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NRP required
- Completion of the AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course is required
- Demonstrated fetal monitoring competency required
- Preferred: C-EFM and STABLE certifications
- Two recent professional references from prior year in current discipline/specialty from a manager or higher
