Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 hour night shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Patient ratios: 1:3 days, 1:4 nights, 1:3 weekends
• Must handle 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio for MedSurg when needed
• Float requirements to ICU or MS units
• 24 hours of orientation provided
• Must have 1 year of experience minimum
• Travel experience required
• Must have NY license in hand - no exceptions
• Must be located 75+ miles from facility (local radius requirement)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
• Scrub color: Any combination of navy and white
• Care for adult and geriatric patients requiring specialized monitoring
• Manage patients with continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring
• Provide care for patients needing airway management, acute BIPAP support, arterial lines, central lines
• Administer titrated medicated IV infusions and blood products
• Skills required: cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, respiratory care
• Work with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams

This tertiary care hospital operates 528 staffed beds and features a 26-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) that serves as a critical care step-down unit. The facility provides exceptional, evidence-based care using a multi-disciplinary approach for patients requiring more specialized care than general medical-surgical units can provide. The IMCU receives patients from various departments including the Emergency Department, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, and Intensive Care Unit, focusing primarily on adult acute care patients with pulmonary conditions and complex medical diagnoses.
