Practice Setting
- Inpatient setting.
- Daily census of approximately 7 patients.
- Average 3 admissions per shift.
- CVU team assists with patient questions during rounds.
Schedule
- Shift-Based coverage for 1-2 weekends per month .
- No long-term commitment required for this assignment.
- Pager call with a 30-minute response time for emergent cases.
Procedures and Cases
- Primarily managing CABG cases post-surgery.
- Performing Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (must have case log).
- Handling Cardiothoracic Surgery referrals from Cardiology.
- AM rounding and as needed for post-surgical patients if changes in condition.
Requirements
- Board Certification in Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery required.
- Active Illinois State Medical License.
- Must present a 24-month Case Log at the start of credentialing.
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and DEA.
Credentialing Requirements
- Credentialing timeframe is 120 days.
- Temporary privileges are available for faster starts.
- Must have a clean background for consideration.
