Job Title: Travel RN – Behavioral Health (7A–7P) Facility: Danville Regional Medical Center Location: Danville, VA Shift: Day, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM Contract Length: 13 weeks
Overview: Danville Regional Medical Center is seeking a Travel Registered Nurse to join the Behavioral Health unit. The RN will provide comprehensive care to patients with psychiatric and behavioral health needs, supporting treatment plans and fostering a safe, therapeutic environment. This role requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and effective communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care to patients in the Behavioral Health unit.
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
- Facilitate patient and family education on treatment goals and discharge planning.
- Document patient progress accurately in the EMR system.
- Maintain compliance with facility policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Current RN license (Virginia or compact state).
- Minimum of 2+ years of recent Behavioral Health or Psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
- Required certifications: BLS (ACLS preferred).
- Strong communication, crisis intervention, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a behavioral health environment.
