Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with day/night rotation
• Must be on unit and ready to work by 6:45 AM/PM
• Weekend requirements include working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday shifts as scheduled
• Night shift staff must work 4 weekend night shifts per 4-week schedule
• Day shift staff must work 4 weekend day shifts per 4-week schedule plus minimum 3 night shifts per 4-week schedule
• Patient ratios goal is 1:4 but typically run 1:5, occasionally 1:6
• Required to float to telemetry, medical-surgical units, or pandemic unit as needed with ratios up to 1:6-1:7
• Self-scheduling allowed as long as unit needs are met with 4 requested days off per month
• Must be able to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitro, Heparin, and occasionally Lasix
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Dress code requires navy blue scrub tops and bottoms with navy scrub jackets (no hoodies)
• Care for patients with chest pain, rule out MI, CHF, arrhythmias, post-pacemaker, pre/post cardiac catheterizations, and Tikosyn therapy patients
• Manage radial bands and removal but do not pull sheaths, perform groin checks
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Must submit copy of unexpired driver's license and comply with 50-mile radius rule
• Use Allscripts charting system and Nihon Kohden telemetry monitors
• Floor-specific orientation includes 4 hours with HR on first day, then remaining time with preceptor for first two days
• Cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• Must be flexible for holiday coverage as needed

This healthcare facility features a 30-bed Intermediate Care Unit with 14 private and 16 semi-private rooms, providing comprehensive cardiac and intermediate-level care services. The facility maintains 24/7 in-house hospitalist coverage, ICU intensivist support, and resident physicians, along with specialized services including IV/PICC teams, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy services. The organization utilizes advanced telemetry monitoring systems and maintains high standards for patient care with experienced clinical support staff and charge nurses who take full patient assignments.
