ER RN Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Alamogordo, NM 88310 (New Mexico healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Unit: Emergency Department (ER)
• Start Date: December 1, 2025
• End Date: March 1, 2026
• Duration: 13-week nursing contract
• Shift: 12-hour nights (multiple shifts available)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend days per 6 weeks
• On Call Requirement: 2 on-call shifts per 6 weeks
• Floating: May be asked but unlikely due to census
• Nurse/Patient Ratio: 1:4-5
• Hourly Pay Rate: $80/hour
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1680-$1800

Emergency Room RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico or compact state
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from AHA
• Current TNCC certification
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room nursing experience preferred
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Ability to attend New Nurses Orientation within 30 days of hire
• Successful completion of organizational and Emergency Department-specific competency validation

ER RN Responsibilities

• Deliver routine and complex care to ER patients independently
• Utilize the nursing process for patient assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on care plans and health management
• Delegate tasks and assignments appropriately to other healthcare providers
• Participate in annual competency verification and ongoing professional development
