We're searching for a qualified physician to join our team in a growing community near Afton, IA. This locum tenens opportunity offers 12-hour in-house call coverage, starting as soon as possible (ASAP). Responsibilities: Provide on-call trauma surgical coverage, responding to a variety of trauma cases and emergencies. Perform a range of trauma-related surgical procedures as needed. Collaborate with emergency department staff, hospitalists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within the Hospital (Cerner) and Clinic (AllScripts) electronic medical record systems. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in trauma surgery and participate in ongoing professional development activities. Qualifications: Active and unrestricted Iowa (IA) medical license is required. Board certification in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care is mandatory. Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) is required. Minimum of two years of experience in a trauma surgery setting is preferred. Strong clinical judgment, decision-making skills, and a comprehensive knowledge base in trauma surgery. Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, families, and healthcare teams in a high-pressure environment.
