RN Position Job Notes:
Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.
Opportunity:
RN - Med Surg Orthopedic
Job Details:
• Work 3 12-hour shifts per week with every other weekend requirement
• No guarantee of block scheduling
• 5-6 patient ratio
• Must have 1/5 start date availability
• Float to similar med-surg units as needed
• Work with post-operative orthopedic patients including hip, knee, spine, and other orthopedic procedures
• Use Meditech documentation system
• Required certification: BLS
• Experience with post-operative patients required
• Meditech experience preferred
• Perform bedside shift reports and safety rounding (1 hour day shift, 2 hours night shift)
• Use AIDET for all patient interactions
• Provide patient-centered care with courtesy and respect
• Keep patients informed of care and make personal connections
• Work with general nursing equipment for med-surg patients
• Dress code: Navy scrubs and closed-toe shoes
• Unit staffing includes 4-5 nurses, 1-3 PCTs, and department secretary coverage

This healthcare facility features a purpose-built orthopedic unit that is just over one year old with 25 beds. The organization maintains TJC certification for hip and knee programs and has received numerous recognition awards including Daisy and Bee nominations. The facility is known for excellent patient experience measurements from surgical patients and provides ample equipment to meet both patient and staff needs. The nursing staff includes experienced professionals with some having over 20 years of tenure.
