The Account and Client Manager for Retirement Plans leads strategic relationships with PEOs, pooled plan sponsors, and advisors to drive retention, engagement, and growth in Ameritas' pooled plan business. This role requires deep expertise in retirement plans, regulatory compliance, and executive relationship management, with significant travel involved. The position also coordinates cross-departmental efforts and represents the company at industry events to expand market presence.

This position is remote and does not require regular in-office presence.
Position Description:
This role serves as the strategic relationship lead for our pooled plan business, owning and nurturing executive-level partnerships with PEOs, MEP/PEP sponsors, Pooled Plan Providers (PPPs), and key advisor agencies. You’ll be the face of Ameritas in this space—driving retention, engagement, and growth while acting as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert in the PEO and pooled plan market.
What you do
- Lead Strategic Relationships: Own and develop relationships with senior leaders at PEOs, MEP/PEP sponsors, PPPs, and advisor firms.
- Drive Retention & Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for senior client stakeholders, accountable for retention strategy and complex issue resolution.
- Act as a Trusted Advisor: Bring deep expertise in co-employment, IRS/DOL regulations, and pooled plan operations to strengthen sponsor-adopting employer relationships.
- Champion Retirement Outcomes: Identify and implement initiatives like TDF CIT adoption, auto-enrollment, and managed accounts to improve participant outcomes.
- Matrix Leadership: Coordinate across departments to support strategic planning, repricing, and business development efforts.
- Market Presence & Growth: Represent Ameritas at industry events, support sales and SLT in expanding our pooled plan footprint and contribute to talent development.
- Internal Collaboration: Serve as a liaison between sales, service, actuarial, and marketing to align on pooled plan strategy and execution.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- 4–7 years of experience in account/client management, preferably in retirement or pooled plan services.
- Proven ability to build and manage executive-level relationships.
- Deep understanding of the PEO industry, pooled plans, and regulatory landscape.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
