Project Manager to serve as Deputy to the Current Technology Office managing 100+ S&T projects and overseeing $100M+ in RDT&E funding and $220M in external DoD research investments. Leads cross-functional teams to develop, experiment, integrate, and transition emerging technologies, coordinates experimentation and testing, tracks cost/schedule/performance, and implements risk mitigation and program protection. Requires bachelor's + 4 years in S&T/Defense Acquisition, DoD RDT&E knowledge, PM tools proficiency, TS/SCI clearance, and ability to perform occasional manual/warehouse tasks.
MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Project Manager to join our MCWL team in Stafford, VA.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Serve as Deputy to the Current Technology Office (CTO), managing over 100 S&T projects and overseeing $100M+ in MCWL RDT&E funding along with $220M in external DoD research investments aligned with USMC objectives.
- Lead a cross-functional team of Portfolio Leads, Branch Leads, and Project Officers responsible for the development, experimentation, integration, and transition of emerging technologies.
- Ensure alignment of prototyping initiatives with critical service-level capability gaps through coordination with capability developers, materiel developers, and senior stakeholders.
- Oversee project execution by conducting status reviews, tracking performance against cost and schedule goals, and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with the Experiments Division to integrate project development and testing with Service Level Experimentation Campaign Planning (SLECP) and live-force experimentation efforts.
- Identify and assess critical technologies, supports the development of program protection plans, and work in collaboration with MCWL G2, ONR, and MCIA to address protection and security requirements.
- Provide planning support, briefing development, and documentation management for CTO priorities and special projects directed by the Director of S&T
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree and at least 4 years of experience supporting Science and Technology or other Defense Acquisition-related efforts
- Knowledge of DoD research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) processes and funding mechanisms.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., MS Project, Earned Value Management, Agile).
Preferred Qualifications:
- DAWIA Program Management certification or equivalent training
- Familiarity with USMC or Joint Force capability development and Force Design initiatives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to brief senior leaders.
- Experience working with Service-level experimentation planning or operational test and evaluation.
- Working knowledge of security and program protection planning for emerging technologies.
Clearance Requirements:
- This role requires an active DoD TS/SCI Clearance.
Physical Requirements:
- The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must be able and willing to perform occasional manual labor and warehouse duties, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
