- Temporary Privileges: Most files are granted temporary privileges prior to the credentials meeting being held due to the rapid turn-around time.
We do not need to request temps and there is not a separate process, or application, or fee in- order for a provider to be granted temps.
Temps are valid for 120 days (or until the file received full Board approval) whichever occurs first.
Once a hard-stop date for rapid processing of files is identified, below outlines the normal temporary privilege process:
Temporary privileges may be granted by the CEO, upon recommendation of the President of the Medical Staff, when there is an important patient care, treatment, or service need, such as: (i) for the care of a specific patient or (ii) to an individual serving as a locum tenens for a member of the Medical Staff. Prior to the granting of temporary privileges in important patient care need situations, current licensure and current competence will be verified.
