Under the direction of the RN or LPN, assists in the individualized care of the patient to achieve the patient's highest level of wellness. Works cooperatively with others as part of a team; recognizes the importance of group goals. Performs designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks essential to providing care to the patient.

Mercy Center for Performance Medicine out-patient surgery offers state of the art care to patients in need of surgical care. The center consists of 10 operating rooms, 2 minor procedure rooms and 1 cysto suite, making it one of the largest surgery centers in the United States. Equipped with the latest and greatest technology.

Surgery specialties include orthopedics, urology, plastics, neuro and general surgery. 

Along with the operating room, the surgery center includes its own pre/post area, PACU, 23-hour stay area, SPD and supply chain.

🩺 What You’ll Do

As a Patient Care Associate (PCA) or Patient Care Technician (PCT), you’ll work under the direction of an RN or LPN to support individualized patient care and wellness. You’ll be a vital part of a collaborative team, performing both clinical procedures and non-clinical tasks that make a real difference.

What Youll Need

  • Education: High school diploma, GED, CNA/CPTC, or enrollment in a healthcare career program
  • Experience: None required – Mercy provides a 175-hour training program for new hires
  • Certifications:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) – required within 1 month of hire
    • PCA competencies – completed within 3 months of hire
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to push/pull/lift 50 lbs, prolonged standing/walking, and physical mobility to perform duties
  • Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
