American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position caring for adults and geriatric patients, requiring a GA or compact RN license and certifications in BLS, CPI, and NIHSS.
Responsibilities- Work in a medical-surgical unit of a hospital caring for adult and geriatric patients
- Primary diagnoses include chest pain, CHF, ESRD, anemia, and abdominal pain
- Team nursing model with each RN overseeing 8 patients alongside an LPN/Paramedic and a PCT
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 18:45–7:15) with every other weekend required
- Unit includes 16 rooms with an average daily census of 16
- Utilizes Epic for charting, Pyxis for medication administration, and SBAR for communication
- Floating within the facility may be required as needed
- No call responsibilities
- Responsibilities include patient assessments, medication administration, and leadership within the team nursing structure
- First time travelers are welcome to apply
- Maximum of 7 days of requested time off; no RTO allowed during the first week
- If one major holiday occurs during the assignment, you are expected to work it; two holidays require both to be worked; three holidays require two to be worked
- Scrub color required is navy blue
- Locals accepted at the same rate
- Travel pairs cannot be scheduled on the same shift and unit
- Perm/PRN staff must be away for one full year from all Piedmont facilities to return as a traveler
- Previously denied travelers must complete a successful assignment at a different facility before returning
- Active GA or compact RN license
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
- Certifications required: BLS, CPI, and NIHSS
- Must provide two supervisory references
- Full compliance with hospital requirements prior to start
