Our client, a leading organization in the packaging and distribution industry, is seeking a Purchasing Agent to join their team. As a Purchasing Agent, you will be part of the procurement department supporting sales and customer service teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong negotiation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Purchasing Agent

Location: Lawrence, MA

Pay Range: $25-$29 an hour

Shift: Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm

What's the Job?

• Process inquiries from sales representatives and customer service teams, obtaining pricing and product information.
• Source new vendors and negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
• Maintain accurate product information and pricing within the software system.
• Coordinate and participate in annual physical inventory and manage incoming order documentation.
• Train new hires and ensure compliance with ISO Quality Standards and procedures.

What's Needed?

• Previous experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in packaging and distribution.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Gmail.
• Ability to work as a team and independently as required
• Basic math skills, attention to detail and ability to work in a time-sensitive environment. 
• Ability to read and understand English effectively. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Bilingual ability is preferred.
