Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.
- 2 years Peds acute care experience- must be comfortable with high flow oxygen, spinal fusion, chest tubes
Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first.
- Will not put new travelers- first contract- on day shift, they must be willing to do night shift.
- Candidates with multiple years’ experience in traveling are first to be considered.
List typical procedures performed on unit(s):
- NGTs, Foleys, TP Tubes, PIVs, phlebotomy (we do have an accuvein in the dept)
- Rare- but can occur occasionally- LP’s.

Tell us about the unit(s): Number of Beds – 36- all private rooms with parent sleeping accommodations Number of Staff – 60 Type of staff: Day Shift – 1 charge (patient free), 1-3 PCTs (CNA’s), occasionally a Clinical Nurse Coordinator as extra resource- typically 4 days a week Night Shift - 1 charge (patient free), 1-2 PCT’s, occasionally a Clinical Nurse Coordinator as resource – typically twice a week or as staffing allows. Patient Ratios – Mixed care- step down patients (spinal fusions, chest tubes, high flow oxygen. We do not do any CPAP, BiPAP or trach/vents in the department, they all go to PICU) are staffed 1:3 and basic care patients are staffed 1:4 Type of equipment - Phillips Monitors EMR - Meditech
