Locum General Medicine Physician (Family Practice/Internal Medicine/Orthopedics) to perform Compensation & Pension and Separation Health Assessments for veterans across Minnesota on a PRN day-shift basis. Responsibilities include interview-based exams and focused physical assessments (range of motion, muscle strength), documentation of findings, and timely report completion; no treatment or prescriptions provided. Requires MD/DO, active MN license, board certification, minimum clinical experience, proximity to specified facilities, and ability to provide private office space; competitive hourly pay and benefits offered.

Are you a dedicated General Medicine Physician looking for flexible, impactful work that supports those who have served? We are seeking qualified Locum Physicians to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across Minnesota. This is an excellent opportunity to utilize your expertise in a meaningful role, working PRN on a day-shift basis, helping Veterans receive the care and evaluation they deserve.
In this position, you will conduct interview-based exams with some physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength testing, without providing treatment or prescriptions. The role offers flexible scheduling full or half-day shifts allowing you to balance your professional and personal commitments while making a significant impact.
Required Skills:
- Current medical license in Minnesota
- Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or equivalent
- Experience with general medicine, compensation, and pension assessments preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to perform physical assessments and document findings accurately
- Commitment to timely completion of reports and addendums
Nice to Have Skills:
- Prior experience in military or veteran healthcare settings
- Familiarity with VA evaluation processes
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Education and Experience:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in general medicine
- Previous experience performing Compensation & Pension exams is beneficial
Other Requirements:
- Must reside within a 25-mile radius of the designated facilities in Detroit Lakes, Bemidji, or Rochester, MN
- Own a licensed private practice or office space for conducting exams
- Willingness to participate in initial credentialing and onboarding
- Availability to start exams from December 31, 2025
- Ability to work on a PRN basis, including quick adaptability to exam schedules
