Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVOR Operating Room position requiring strong open heart and vascular surgery skills and a SC or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) of a hospital setting
- Typical caseload averages 6 open heart and vascular cases per day
- Weekday shifts from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM
- Weekend call required
- Prepare and position patients for CVOR procedures
- Complete Safe Surgery checklist and ensure accurate documentation of care
- Delegate, supervise, and evaluate activities of team members during urgent or emergent situations
- Serve as communication liaison for family and operating team members
- Participate in assigned call schedule
- Maintain and manage supplies and equipment effectively
- Adhere to department efficiency standards and contribute to daily operations
- Professional growth encouraged through participation in educational activities
Requirements
- Active SC or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR nursing experience
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proficiency in handling open heart and vascular surgical cases
- Ability to perform duties both within and outside the sterile field
