We are seeking an Optometrist for a 60-day locum tenens assignment in California starting Oct 27, 2025. This opportunity offers a full-time Monday through Friday schedule, with the possibility of 4-10s and some floating based on assignment needs. The role involves providing comprehensive eye care, including exams, yearly check-ups, and diagnosis and treatment of vision conditions, primarily serving a patient population that is 75 percent Spanish-speaking and 78 percent Medical/Medicaid. Job Details Location: California Start Date: Oct 27, 2025 LOA: 60 days Provider Type Needed: Optometrist Schedule: Monday through Friday full-time; chance of 4-10s; may float between locations if needed Responsibilities and Duties Perform comprehensive eye exams and yearly check-ups Diagnose and treat a range of vision conditions Provide care to a predominantly Spanish-speaking patient base, utilizing translators and Spanish-speaking medical assistants as needed Serve a patient panel that is primarily Medical/Medicaid insured Accurately document all patient encounters in Epic EMR Collaborate with clinic staff to ensure quality patient care Additional Information Must be licensed to practice optometry in California Active California DEA and furnishing license required Board certification in Optometry required Locum experience and FQHC, Rural Health, or IHS experience are favorable Minimum one year of recent clinical experience required; candidates with recent gaps in practice will not be considered Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
