Department: PICU RN *Certifications Required: PALS, BLS (TNCC would be great, but not required)* **Local Rate: Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility. # Beds: 8 beds average census 4/5. - Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 depending. - Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Respiratory, DKA, traumas- MVAs, and head traumas, broken bones, surgicals, neuro (seizure), over dose, suicide. - Experience or 'Must have' skills: Must have experience with : Intubated, run drips, sedations, ICP's, EVDs, emergency situations, only thing we don't do would be ECMO. We draw our own labs. MUST have 1 year of PICU, Ok with travel duos and first time travelers - duos would be on the same weekends but not able to have the same schedule. - Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes. - Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Cardiac, insulin, heparin, sedation. - Charge Nurse/House Supervisor? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes, to take assignment and modified if able. - Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: No. - Pediatrician in house 24/7?: Intensivist is not in house but lives within 10 minutes, residents in house 24/7. - RT Equipment: Vents, CPAP, BiPap, Nava, vapotherm, heliox. - Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: No, RN's do their own, RN to read and interpret and do strips. - Shifts & Scheduling: Self scheduling in a tiered approach. Do not allow block scheduling. - Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend. - Holiday Requirements: Every other holiday. - Is there call or a standby requirement?: No. - Floating Requirements: Peds. Can be floated to NICU if they have experience. Everyone gets floated to the adult areas as an observer depending on census. - Scrub Color/Dress Code: Clean & professional, peds appropriate - Unit/Department specific orientation: 1 standard day of general hospital orientation, 2 days of orientation on the unit. *MUST note in submission if clinician has ever worked for Marshfield. If clinician previously worked with Marshfield, they must have an end date 6 months prior to their submission date.* All clinicians must clock in and out at facility Date Entered On: 10/31/2025
