About the Role: As the Deputy Chief of Medicine, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and guiding the delivery of high-quality medical care. Collaborating with senior medical staff, you ll help set the vision and direction for the department, ensure clinical excellence, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing the Medicine Service line, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained.
- Support and advise the Chief of Medicine on clinical and administrative matters.
- Oversee and coordinate clinical services, including inpatient, outpatient, and specialty care.
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous education.
- Ensure compliance with VA policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and support clinical research efforts.
- Assist in budget development and management.
- Represent the Medicine Service in various administrative and clinical meetings.
Qualifications:
- Board-certified in Internal Medicine or a medical subspecialty.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a clinical or academic setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels.
