Opportunity:
Physician - Surgery - Cardiothoracic
Job Details:
• Full-time locum cardiothoracic surgeon position for a 6-month assignment starting February/March with potential to extend further into 2026 and possibility for permanent hire
• Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:45AM-5PM with nights and weekend call rotation (approximately 7-8 calls per month)
• Average 2 cases per day in a hospital-based setting including OR, ICU, and rounding on patients in ER and floors
• Procedures required include: Descending Aortic Aneurysms, CABG, Off-Pump CABG, Arterial Revascularization, Redo Coronary Revascularization, Tube Thoracostomy, Pericardial Window, Thoracic aortic aneurysms, Heart Valve Repair/Replacement Surgery, CoreValve System, and Mitral Valve Repair
• Work with adult and geriatric patient populations
• Documentation system: EPIC EMR with full complement of ancillary staff
• Must be Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Active Connecticut medical license required
• Estimated credentialing timeframe: 30-45 days
• Local provider preferred (mileage reimbursement only)
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
