Job DescriptionThe Registered Nurse in the Cardio Vascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) plays a vital role in providing expert care for critically ill cardiac surgery patients. Responsibilities include ventilator management, managing central lines, and caring for patients requiring advanced cardiac device management.
Responsibilities- Manage arterial lines, central lines, and PICC lines.
- Administer blood products and medications, including emergency medications.
- Provide care for ventilated patients and assist with chest tube insertion and removal.
- Interpret arterial blood gas results and dysrhythmias.
- Monitor and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support patient recovery.
- Active New York Single State RN license (NY is not Compact).
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a CVICU or similar setting preferred.
- EPIC charting experience is a must.
