American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Behavioral Health night shift position requiring 2 years of recent in-specialty experience and a Missouri or compact RN license.
Responsibilities- Work in an acute inpatient pediatric psychiatric hospital setting
- Unit serves pediatric behavioral health patients with a wide range of psychiatric disorders
- Nursing ratio is 1:12 on nights, including weekends
- Shifts are 3x12 hours, nights from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
- Weekend work includes every Sunday, every Friday, or every other Friday night shift
- No floating required outside of assigned scope
- Facility is Magnet designated with 46 staffed beds
- Uses Epic for charting; Epic experience preferred
- Scrub color for RNs is navy blue
- Free parking provided
- Responsibilities include supporting medication administration, guiding overall unit care, and collaborating with Behavioral Health Techs
- Acute care skills for pediatric psychiatric emergencies and medication administration using various routes required
- Must be comfortable managing a variety of behavioral and psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents
- Regular participation in seclusion protocols, crisis intervention, and therapeutic modalities such as de-escalation techniques is expected
- Must complete all required modules and compliance documentation, with up to 10-15 hours of pre-start and annual training expected
- Team includes 1 RN per unit and dedicated Behavioral Health Techs based on patient acuity
- Maximum of 7 days requested time off (RTO) allowed per contract
- No travel partners accepted for this assignment
- Holiday coverage may be required as scheduled
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Active MO or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of recent specialty experience in pediatric behavioral health with no gap over 90 days in the last year
- Direct experience with 1:12 patient ratios required
- BLS certification required
- MANDT certification in patient restraint required (provided onsite if not current)
- Trauma Informed Care and Zero Suicide Training required (provided onsite if not current)
- Missouri Children's Division background check required
- MoVechs background check process must be initiated within 1 week of contract and requires responsive participation
- At least two professional references from the past year, including one supervisor-level reference, are required
- No pending licensing accepted; license must be in hand
- Not accepting local candidates within 75 miles of the facility
