The Preschool Maintenance Technician is responsible for general repairs, preventative maintenance, and facility projects across multiple early childhood education sites. The role requires independent problem-solving skills and managing vendor partnerships to ensure safe, well-maintained environments for children, families, and staff. Candidates need prior maintenance experience, a valid driver’s license, and physical ability to perform various repair tasks in varied environments.
The ideal candidate has experience in general maintenance, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently across multiple sites. They are resourceful in solving problems, proactive in addressing potential issues, and address facility needs with minimal direction. In this hands-on, independent role, no two days are the same, and your work directly impacts children, families, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle repairs, preventative maintenance, and facility projects
- Respond to urgent requests and conduct routine inspections
- Partner with vendors on specialized repairs and oversee contracted work
- Support school upgrades, playgrounds, and classroom refreshes
- Maintain tools and equipment in excellent condition
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (trade school certifications preferred)
- 2+ years maintenance/facilities experience (multi-site or education preferred)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
- Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills
- Physically able to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, work in varied environments
- Able to pass background checks and meet preschool requirements
