Our client in the Des Moines metro is seeking a Recycling Technician to join their team. As a Recycling Technician, you will be part of the Operations Department supporting the Material Processing team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Recycling Technician

Location: Des Moines, IA

Pay Range: $16.00/hour

Shift: 7:30am-4:00pm Monday-Friday

What's the Job?

  • Process and destroy all materials delivered to the shred plant efficiently and securely.
  • Sort and shred materials by grade, ensuring compliance with safety and security policies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace following the 5S Workplace Program to promote consistency and safety.
  • Perform equipment maintenance and repairs as authorized to ensure safe and continuous operation.
  • Assist with training new staff and support team efforts to meet operational goals.

What's Needed?

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience in a Production or Manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials (70lbs to 100lbs) and operate equipment such as PIT as licensed.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Commitment to safety procedures, including wearing PPEs and adhering to OSHA standards.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and follow safety protocols diligently.
